Two Green Lawn Chairs in the Garden, and Only One Was Meant for Grandpa
Evening settles over the backyard garden, the sky streaked with pale clouds and a glow of orange low on the horizon. Grandpa has unfolded a pair of green camp chairs among the raised beds, watering cans, and coiled hoses, and he's leaning back with a contented half smile, gazing toward the sunset. Domino sits close at his side, fluffy and alert, his yellow eyes turned the same direction, as if they both agreed this was the best seat in the neighborhood.
Dusk is a naturally busy time for cats. They're crepuscular, meaning they tend to be most active around dawn and dusk, which is why many owners notice a burst of energy or extra curiosity as the light fades. Outdoors, that same time of day brings more wildlife moving around and lower visibility for drivers, so it's a good idea to bring cats inside before dark if they spend time outside. For indoor cats, an evening play session with a wand toy can channel that twilight energy into something fun and help them settle more calmly at bedtime.
Domino seems content, for now, to simply sit and watch the color drain out of the sky with his favorite person. The garden chores are done, the watering cans are parked, and there's nowhere else either of them needs to be.
The second lawn chair might be for a neighbor. Domino has other ideas.
