Frank and Dottie Raised Their Lemonade Glasses. Biscuit Struck a Pose.

AI imagecorgiporch lemonadesummer

Two tall glasses of lemonade with lemon slices and fresh mint, two matching sweaters, and one Corgi who knows he's the star. Frank and Dottie sit side by side on the shady porch in cream sweaters with deep red Nordic bands, raising their glasses and smiling warmly. Biscuit sits just in front of them in a brown leather collar, chest puffed out, ears tall, gazing off to the side with a look of noble satisfaction. The porch around them is pleasantly cluttered with potted plants, a wicker basket, a bench cushion, a pair of boots, and a few fallen leaves on the boards.

Warm afternoons on the porch are lovely, but dogs feel heat differently than people. Corgis, with their dense double coats, can overheat more easily than you might expect, so shade and plenty of fresh water are essential. Signs of overheating include heavy panting, drooling, weakness, or bright red gums, and those call for moving the dog somewhere cool and contacting your vet. As for lemonade, it's not a good drink for dogs. Citrus can upset their stomachs, and sugar isn't good for them either. A bowl of cool water, or an ice cube to lick, is a much better treat.

Biscuit doesn't need a glass of his own to enjoy the moment. Sitting in the shade with his favorite people is more than enough for him.
