Grandma Nell Got Out the Box of Old Family Photos. Bluebell Walked Right Onto Them.
Every picture on this table has a story, and Bluebell is checking them one by one. Grandma Nell sits at a worn wooden table in her denim shirt, silver braid hanging over her shoulder, fingertips resting on an old black-and-white portrait as she smiles down at the memories. Bluebell has stepped right into the middle of the spread, her thick cream coat and smoky gray face bent low over a photo, blue eyes focused, whiskers brushing the edge of the paper. A mug, a crocheted doily, and a pair of glasses sit among the prints, while shelves of folded blankets and a basket fill the room behind.
Cats are drawn to anything their people are focused on. Some experts suggest it is partly curiosity and partly a desire to be involved, since your attention is one of the things they value most. Ragdolls in particular tend to be social and people-oriented, so it is no surprise to find one stepping into the middle of a project. If you are working with fragile or sentimental items, it helps to give your cat a comfy spot nearby, like a folded blanket on a chair, so they can be close without walking across irreplaceable keepsakes.
For now, Nell does not seem to mind the help. Perhaps Bluebell is looking for a photo of herself in the pile. If not, someone may need to start a new album just for her.
