Grandpa and Pearl Take a Slow Stroll Past the Market Stalls
Grandpa strolls through the farmers market in the golden hour, a cream cardigan over his shirt and a leash looped lightly in one hand. Pearl the white Poodle walks at his side with her mouth open in a cheerful pant, her blue collar bright against her curls. Stalls overflow with squash, cucumbers, peppers, and baskets of produce, and shoppers drift in the soft light behind them. A green canopy and wooden crates give the whole place a friendly, bustling feel. Nobody seems to be in a rush, and the whole place hums softly.
A busy market can be a lot for a dog, with new smells, crowds, and food everywhere. A short, loose leash and a calm pace help your dog feel secure, and it is smart to check ahead whether pets are welcome at the market you plan to visit. Carry water for her, keep an eye on warm pavement, and avoid letting her snatch dropped food. Poodles tend to be sociable and observant, so many of them enjoy the sights as long as they feel close to their person.
Pearl looks perfectly composed, like a dog who has done this many times. Grandpa is in no hurry, taking in the colors and nodding at friendly faces. Some walks are less about the destination and more about having good company on the way. Grandpa may even come home with a bag of fresh produce.
