Pebble Ended Up Tangled in Grandpa's Yarn While He Knitted

AI imageexotic shorthairknittingyarn

Grandpa works two wooden needles with a patient, amused smile while Pebble sits right in the middle of a mess of cream-colored yarn. Loops wind around her paws and shoulders, and her round face wears a look that says she has no idea how it happened. A basket of yarn balls and a blanket-covered couch fill the cozy room behind them.

His cream cardigan looks handmade, and a cup of tea sits on the table nearby. Pebble, tangled and unbothered, looks perfectly at home.

Yarn and cats are a classic pair, but string can be dangerous. If a cat swallows yarn or thread, it can cause a serious blockage, so never let her chew or eat it, and keep skeins in a closed basket when you are not using them. If she gets tangled, unwind gently and cut the yarn if needed, rather than pulling. Offer a safe toy, such as a feather wand, for play instead. Exotic Shorthairs are usually easygoing, but all cats love moving strings. If you think she swallowed some, call your vet immediately.

The scarf may take a little longer now, and Grandpa does not seem to mind at all. He will untangle her slowly, one loop at a time, and probably laugh the whole way through. A tangled cat is a small price to pay for the best company in the room.
