A Curly Black Cat Leaned Over the Garden Bed and Found Six Little Surprises
Wavy black fur, enormous ears, and wide amber eyes: this curious cat looks like a garden imp who just discovered something marvelous. Leaning over the wooden edge of a raised garden bed, the Devon Rex peers down at a group of six yellow ducklings tucked into the corner. The ducklings, with their flat orange bills and fuzzy round bodies, gaze right back, completely unfazed. Tiny green sprouts poke through the dark soil, a few dry leaves are scattered around, and a pot and some garden tools rest in the background.
Devon Rex cats are known for their unusual curly coats, oversized ears, and playful, people-oriented personalities. Many owners describe them as mischievous and affectionate, with a habit of perching on shoulders and joining in on whatever is going on. Their short, fine coats shed less than many breeds, but they also hold less warmth, so these cats often seek out sunny spots and cozy blankets. Like any cat, though, a Devon Rex is still a natural hunter. Gentle introductions to small birds like ducklings should always be supervised, and it's safest to keep them separated when no one is watching, since even playful pats can injure tiny birds.
This moment, though, looks like pure curiosity on both sides. One small cat with velvet waves meets six fuzzy yellow faces, and for a quiet second in the garden, everyone is simply saying hello.
