A British Shorthair and a Bunny Inspected the Garden Row by Row
The garden bed is full of fresh green leaves, and two curious inspectors have arrived to see how the crop is doing. A round-faced cream British Shorthair crouches low with her golden eyes wide, and a cream lop-eared bunny leans in beside her, nose almost touching the carrot tops. Rows of herbs and seedlings stretch behind them, and a wooden fence and a few clay pots frame the plot. A butterfly flutters over the herbs, and the cat's ears swivel while the bunny nibbles a leaf and watches her closely.
British Shorthairs are calm, sturdy cats with round faces and dense, plush coats. They tend to be easygoing and affectionate without being too clingy, and they are often happy to relax nearby. They can gain weight easily, so measured meals and regular play help keep them healthy. A vet can suggest an ideal weight for your cat.
Rabbits enjoy leafy greens, and carrot tops are often a safe treat in moderation, but not all garden plants are safe for them. Some common plants, such as rhubarb leaves and certain bulbs, are toxic. Garden products like fertilizers and slug bait can also be hazardous. Check which plants are safe, and talk to your vet if you have questions.
The two friends move slowly through the greenery, sniffing and exploring. A garden is a world of wonders when you are small. Good gardeners always have helpers. Fresh greens and fresh friendships.
