A Maltese and a Bunny Waded Into the Creek Together
Cool water ripples around two small pairs of feet. A fluffy white Maltese steps through a shallow creek with his head tilted and his dark eyes bright, while a small brown bunny stands beside him with her ears up and her front paws wet. Droplets spray in the light, and mossy bank, grass, and a wooden fence stand beyond.
Maltese dogs are small, gentle companions with a long, silky white coat that has been admired for centuries. They are cheerful, playful, and often love attention. The coat tangles easily, so many owners keep it trimmed short, and regular grooming helps keep it clean. A vet or groomer can advise on keeping those white fur and tear stains tidy.
Water play is fun for dogs, but a bunny is another story. Rabbits generally dislike getting wet, and a soaked coat can chill them quickly, since their fur is slow to dry. A wet bunny should be dried gently and kept warm, and a vet can help if she seems unwell. Rabbits do not swim well, so shallow water, if used at all, should be only a trickle.
For the picture, though, it is all gentle splashing and curiosity. The creek is calm and the afternoon is warm. The pair seem to be exploring together, one step at a time. A cool creek on a warm afternoon is a good place to be, and the little bunny looks bright-eyed and curious about every ripple.
