A Giant Goldendoodle Lay Perfectly Still and Guarded the Bunny
Sometimes the safest place in the world is right between two giant paws. A big, curly cream Goldendoodle lies on a soft gray blanket with his eyes shut and his muzzle on the floor, and tucked into the gap beneath his chin is a small brown bunny named Clover. Her ears are flattened back, her little face is turned toward the camera, and she seems completely at ease.
The Goldendoodle's loose curls spill over his legs, and his big pale paws stretch forward like two pillows. Behind them, a woven basket holds towels, a pair of slippers sits near a wall, and a leafy plant waits in the corner. The room is calm, with a hush that suggests nobody is planning to move.
Goldendoodles are often described as sweet, social, and gentle, and their soft curly coats make them popular family dogs. Their curls need regular brushing, and many enjoy lots of company. When a large dog and a small rabbit nap together, it can be a lovely sign of trust, but it is still important to watch for accidents. Dogs can roll in their sleep, and rabbits are fragile. Provide a space where the bunny can leave at any time, and check in on them from time to time. If you plan to house both pets in one home, ask your vet to help with a safe setup.
The dog does not budge, and the bunny does not need to. Some friendships are held together by trust and a very warm pair of paws.
