A Chihuahua and a Sleeping Lamb Pressed Their Faces Together by the Fire

AI imagechihuahualambfireplace

The fire is crackling softly, and in front of it two sleepers have tucked their faces together. A black-and-tan Chihuahua rests on the right with his eyes shut and his chin pressed against Dumpling the lamb's cheek, his little ears folded. The lamb lies curled against him with her woolly side glowing in the firelight and her ears drooping. A mantel behind them is lined with books, mugs, and tools, and a green throw hangs over a chair.

Chihuahuas are tiny dogs that often feel the cold, which is why so many of them love a warm spot near the fire or a cozy blanket. They tend to be loyal and affectionate and often bond closely with a favorite companion. Lambs, too, like to huddle with a companion and often rest close together. A fireplace makes a pretty setting, but pets should always be kept a safe distance away, and a fire screen is a good idea. If you have questions about keeping small dogs warm and safe in winter, ask your vet.

The room is quiet except for the pop of the fire, and the two seem to have drifted into deep, warm sleep. The little dog and the little lamb are about the same size, and they curl together as if they belonged to the same family. It is a restful picture.
