A Bulldog and a Bunny Sat Quietly by the Pond
On the grassy bank beside a pond, a big brown and white Bulldog sits in profile with his jowls resting and his eyes looking toward the water. Beside him, a small brown bunny sits just as still, her ears relaxed and her little nose lifted. Reeds poke out of the pond behind them, and a house peeks through the trees on the far side. The water is still as glass, and the green reeds barely sway.
Bulldogs are calm, loyal, and sturdy companions, but their short noses make them sensitive to heat, so they do best in the shade and cool air. They also should not swim without supervision, since their heavy build makes them poor swimmers. Rabbits should never be near a pond unattended, because they can slip in and become chilled. A calm bank like this one is fine for watching, as long as people supervise. Always supervise pets near water, and offer fresh water to drink instead.
They're both quiet. A dragonfly or a ripple could be the thing that has their attention, but neither seems in a hurry to find out. The Bulldog's wrinkled brow looks very thoughtful, and the bunny's ears tilt gently.
Still water and a good friend to sit beside. Some days are for exactly that. A calm pond is a good place to be still.
