A Ragdoll Found the Warmest Red Blanket Next to the Christmas Tree
Curled into a perfect cream-colored swirl, a Ragdoll sleeps on a chunky red knit blanket with her tail wrapped around her body. The little Christmas tree beside her glows with tiny white lights, wooden stars, and pinecones, and the floor and wall behind are warm with the golden light of the evening. Her eyes are closed, and her whole body looks heavy with sleep.
Ragdolls are known for being affectionate, gentle cats who tend to relax completely when held. They are often called lap cats, and many enjoy being near their people, whether that means curling up beside the tree or following someone from room to room. Their semi-long coat is silky and usually mats less than some other long-haired breeds, but regular brushing is still a good habit, especially during the dry winter months.
Cats choose soft, warm spots for sleep. A thick knit blanket gives them a nest, helps hold body heat, and lets them feel safe. If you give your cat a chunky blanket, check that there are no loose threads or large holes where claws or toes could get caught. Washing the blanket now and then keeps it fresh for naps. If your cat starts chewing or swallowing yarn, take it away and talk to your vet.
The holiday bustle can wait. This cream cloud of a cat has found the softest red spot in the house, and she looks ready to sleep straight through to January.
