Walnut the Sphynx Kitten Found the Coziest Bed in the House
After the presents were opened, the pile of torn paper became the coziest bed in the house. The tiny grey Sphynx kitten lies curled in the middle of it, folds of wrinkled skin soft around his closed eyes and his big ears tilted to one side. Green paper printed with snowflakes crinkles beneath him, and the sunlit room beyond holds a mug, a water bottle, and a couch heaped with throws.
Sphynx cats have no coat, so they rely on warm spots and cozy bedding to keep comfortable. They often seek out laps, blankets, and sunny patches. Because their skin is exposed, they may need occasional care like gentle wiping to remove oils, and they can be sensitive to sunburn or chilly drafts. Your vet can recommend a routine for skin care and a safe indoor temperature for a hairless breed.
Wrapping paper can be a fun toy for kittens, but check what he is chewing. Ribbon, tape, and string are dangerous if swallowed, and pieces of foil or plastic can cause trouble too. Gather the scraps and keep gift-wrapping supplies shut away when you're not using them. A paper bag or a cardboard box lets him enjoy the crinkle and the hiding, without the risk.
We'll call him Walnut. He found the warmest, crunchiest spot in the room, and he has absolutely no plans to move.
