She has not touched a thing. A blue point Ragdoll sits upright beside a plate of mashed potatoes with a pat of butter melting on top, her paws held close to her chest and her blue eyes lifted toward whoever is nearby. Ragdolls are large, soft cats with silky coats and striking blue eyes, and they have a reputation for relaxed, gentle personalities. Many follow their people from room to room and enjoy being held. That affectionate nature can make them very good at asking for attention, or for dinner, with a patient stare. Their semi-long coat needs regular brushing to prevent tangles.

Mashed potatoes are fine for people but not for cats. Butter, cream, garlic, and onion are not good for them, and rich foods can upset a cat's stomach. If you want to include a cat in the holiday meal, a small amount of plain cooked turkey meat without skin, seasoning, or bones is usually safer, but ask your vet about your own cat. We will call this charming beggar Luna. She has an angelic face and a lot of patience, and she waits, quiet and sweet, with every hope that someone will notice.
