A Tiny Black Pom Curled Up in the Reddest Blanket by the Tree
A tiny puffball of black fur is tucked into a chunky red knit blanket, nose hidden and eyes closed, perfectly asleep. The Pomeranian lies in a circle beside a Christmas tree glowing with golden lights, pinecones, and wooden ornaments. A woven basket holds a pile of plush toys, a pair of slippers rests by the wall, and sunset light pours in through the window onto a sofa and a plaid throw. The room is warm, still, and very cozy.
Pomeranians are small dogs with thick, fluffy double coats, and they are usually lively and very attached to their families. Even though their coat is dense, small dogs can still feel the cold, and a soft blanket or bed away from drafts helps them rest. Curling up in a ball helps a dog hold in warmth. Brush a Pomeranian regularly to keep the fluffy coat from matting, and keep the tree safe: secure it so it can't fall, keep glass ornaments high, and watch that your dog doesn't chew on light cords. Make sure the sleeping spot is not too close to heaters.
We might call this sleeper Coal. He has no interest in the presents or the tree, only in warmth and quiet. The red blanket makes a nice contrast to his dark coat, and the lights keep a gentle watch. It is the sort of nap everyone wishes they could take.
