A Goldendoodle Pretended Not to Notice the Mountain of Shredded Paper

AI imagegoldendoodleshredded newspapercaught in the act

With his nose lifted and his face turned toward the window, a curly red Goldendoodle tries to look like a dog who has never seen newspaper in his life. His coat is a warm copper, his red collar is a little crooked, and his long ears curl softly at the ends. Behind him, a huge heap of shredded newspaper and torn paper covers the floor and spills halfway across the room.

A gray couch with a knitted throw sits to the left, a wooden table holds a mug and a book, and a tote bag, a plant, and a stack of mail rest on a shelf. Warm light fills the room. We'll call him Copper. He has clearly done an amazing amount of work, and now he is pretending to admire the view.

Goldendoodles, a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, are typically friendly, smart, and full of energy. Because they are bright and social, they tend to get into trouble when bored or alone. Shredding paper is a favorite pastime, and it is generally harmless in small amounts, though swallowing large pieces can upset the stomach. Give him chew toys, rotate them, and provide training games and daily exercise. Doodle coats need regular brushing and grooming to prevent mats, and a good trim helps keep him comfortable. If your dog regularly eats non-food items, talk with your vet. Keep newspapers, mail, and magazines on a high shelf, and he will find something else to shred.

Copper keeps his gaze fixed on the window, proud of his work and absolutely sure nobody will mention it.
