A Poodle Is Sitting in the Middle of a Chip Explosion
Golden potato chips are strewn across the carpet, a silver bag lies torn open beside him, and an apricot Poodle sits in the middle looking up with big, dark, honest eyes. His curls are soft and fluffy, his long ears hang like curtains, and his black nose is pointed straight at the camera.
The room behind him is bright and cozy, with a woven basket full of clothes, a pair of slippers by the wall, and a window letting in warm light. The chips seem to be everywhere except in his stomach, or perhaps not. Sunlight stripes the carpet, and every chip seems to glint in it, as if the floor had been sprinkled with gold coins.
Poodles are famous for their intelligence and their curly, low-shedding coats. They are quick learners, which makes it easy to train a Poodle but also means a bored Poodle will find clever ways to get snacks. Potato chips are salty and oily, and a lot of salt can be unhealthy for dogs, while some flavors have onion and garlic powder, which are harmful. A small crumb will not usually hurt, but if a dog has eaten a bag, call your vet for advice. Store snacks in a high cabinet and make sure the pantry door closes.
The Poodle sits patiently, as if waiting for his sentence. With a face like that, he will probably get off with a gentle warning.
