A Bengal Was Caught Mid-Bite With Spaghetti Hanging From Her Mouth
A spotted brown Bengal stands at the edge of a wooden table with a mouthful of spaghetti hanging in front of her chest, ears pulled back, and wide green eyes. The plate beside her has tipped, and strings of pasta and flecks of red sauce lie scattered across the table. Her striped, golden coat shimmers in the warm light, and she looks as though she has realized the situation too late. In the background, a glass bottle, a small toy mouse, and a gray cloth sit in a sunny kitchen.
Bengals are active, athletic cats with a wild-looking coat and an appetite for adventure, and they are known for jumping onto counters and tables. Pasta in small amounts is not toxic to cats, but it offers little nutrition, and sauces often contain onion and garlic, which are harmful to them. Keep meals off tables, and give your cat her own food at regular times. Offer high perches, climbing shelves, and puzzle feeders to help satisfy her love of heights and challenges. If she eats a lot of human food or seems unwell, call your vet.
The look says that she knows she has been caught in the middle of an important task, and that she cannot quite swallow it with dignity. It is a funny, very Lady-and-the-Tramp sort of moment, with a cat instead of a dog. Dinner is a little messy now, but the Bengal looks very elegant in her spaghetti scarf.
