The Chihuahua Baron Does Not Like to Be Kept Waiting. Check the Pocket Watch.
The baron is a busy dog, and he does not like to be kept waiting. This black and tan Chihuahua sits straight-backed against a dark velvet curtain, holding up a gleaming gold pocket watch on a fine chain as if pointedly noting the time. His enormous ears stand proudly upright, his tan eyebrows are slightly raised, and his round brown eyes look directly at the viewer with no-nonsense confidence. He wears a deep slate-colored velvet coat trimmed in gold braid and buttons, with frothy lace at the collar and cuffs.
Chihuahuas are the smallest recognized dog breed, but they're known for having big personalities. Named after the Mexican state of Chihuahua, they're loyal, alert, and often deeply attached to one favorite person. Their size makes them easy to travel with, but it also means they're fragile and can be injured by falls or rough play, so they're usually best suited to homes with older children or adults. Chihuahuas get cold easily and appreciate warm beds and sweaters in chilly weather. They can also be prone to dental problems, so regular tooth brushing and vet dental checkups are an important part of their care.
Small in stature but large in presence, the baron clearly runs a tight schedule. If you're late for dinner, he'll certainly let you know about it, loudly and at length.
