A Corgi Poet Hugs His Book and Prepares to Recite
Ears up and heart open, the little poet has found the perfect verse. A red and white Corgi with big upright ears and a bright, intelligent face holds a small cream book against his chest, white paws wrapped in lace cuffs. His coat is pale pink silk embroidered with golden leaves, and a frill of lace and a tiny pink bow decorate his white chest. Behind him, golden scrolls, shells and flowers glow in a pastel haze, and a wisp of cloud floats at the top of the frame.
There is something proud and sweet in his posture, as though he is about to recite and is waiting for the room to quiet. The big ears give his face a lovely theatrical flair.
Corgis were developed in Wales as herding dogs, and they have the energy, intelligence and confidence to match. They are friendly and often very vocal, and they enjoy learning tricks and having a job to do. Because of their long backs and short legs, it is best to avoid too much jumping on and off furniture and to keep their weight in check, since extra pounds can strain the spine. Corgis shed quite a lot, so regular brushing is worthwhile. Your vet can offer advice on diet and exercise for your dog.
The poem is likely short, sweet and mostly about treats. It will be well received by the entire court.
