A Samoyed Prince Greets the Court With His Famous Smile
His smile is what you notice first, a soft, upturned curve that Samoyeds are famous for, and his dark eyes glow with warmth. This white Samoyed prince has a cloud of fluffy fur around his neck and perky, rounded ears. His navy velvet coat is covered in gold embroidery, a lace collar and cravat sit at his throat, and a wide blue satin sash crosses his chest, decorated with gold flowers. The background is nearly black, so the prince looks as if he is lit by his own glow.
Samoyeds are known for being friendly, cheerful and gentle, and they often greet everyone as a new friend. That makes them great family dogs, though not great guard dogs. They are active, intelligent and need daily exercise and mental stimulation, such as training games or scent walks. Their fluffy white coat requires regular brushing a few times each week, and more often when shedding. Like many thick-coated dogs, they can overheat in hot weather, so shade, water and cooler parts of the day are the best times for a stroll.
