The Pomeranian Duke Is Small, Fluffy and Entirely in Command

A fluffy orange lion's mane surrounds a cheerful little face with dark eyes and a hint of a smile. The Pomeranian duke has pointed, fox-like ears and a tiny black nose. His navy velvet coat has large gold fringed epaulettes, rows of small gold buttons and a white lace cravat at the neck. The dark brown background and the soft drape behind him make his bright fur and gold trim stand out. He looks delighted to be there, and a little bit proud of his looks. His fur is painted in warm strokes of apricot and cream, so each tuft of the mane seems to catch the light in its own way.

Pomeranians are tiny dogs with a thick double coat and a lively personality. They are alert, intelligent and often quite vocal, making them excellent little watchdogs. Their coat should be brushed regularly, especially when shedding, and they should never be shaved down to the skin without a groomer or vet's advice. Because they are so small, they can be hurt easily, so supervise play with larger dogs and take care with jumping. Training early and kindly helps this bold little dog become a polite companion.

The duke seems to have a happy heart and a great deal of confidence for his size. He would certainly rule his estate with cheerful energy, greeting every guest with a bark and a wag. His dignity is a little fluffy, but it is also entirely sincere.
