The Ship's Captain Was Smaller Than His Hat. He Didn't Mind.
Captain Cocoa is on the quarterdeck, or at least that is the feeling. A chocolate Chihuahua gazes out from beneath an enormous black tricorn hat edged in gold, his big round eyes wide and watchful. His navy coat is thick with gold braid and brass buttons, a small anchor stitched near the chest, and a frilly white lace cravat spills down the front. Soft light flickers behind him in the dark, as though a lantern is swinging somewhere below. Even the stiff collar of the coat cannot hide how seriously he takes the job.
Chihuahuas are the smallest dog breed, yet they are known for big personalities and a loyal, devoted streak toward their favorite person. Because they are so tiny, they chill easily, so a warm sweater or a cozy blanket is welcome in cool weather. Gentle, early socialization helps them feel confident around new people and other dogs, and a harness is kinder than a collar for those delicate necks. Regular dental care matters too, since small mouths can crowd teeth. Your vet can guide you on all of it.
There is something delightful about a dog this small commanding a ship this grand. The hat alone could hold half his body weight in pride. Wherever this captain is sailing, he has plainly decided the crew is in good paws, and the sea ahead looks calm.
