The Royal Gardener Carried the Roses. The Spaniel Looked Concerned.
Soft pink roses spill from a small woven basket, held in the crook of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel's furry paw. The rich ruby coat flows down in long chestnut ears on either side of a sweet, serious face with dark round eyes. She wears a dark green jacket stitched with gold flowers and a cream apron with a leafy border, which is exactly the kind of outfit a royal gardener would never get dirty. The background is moss-green and faded gold. Rosie has the careful air of someone who has been told not to dig up the flowerbeds.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are known as gentle, affectionate companions who adore being close to their people. They usually do well with children and other pets and prefer company to long hours alone. Their silky coat needs regular brushing, especially behind the ears, where tangles gather. Cavaliers can be prone to certain heart and ear problems, so regular check-ups with your vet are a good idea. Moderate daily walks suit them, and they often enjoy a sniff around a garden. If you do keep roses, remember that thorns can scratch curious noses, and some fertilizers are harmful to pets.
The roses look perfect, and nobody has a spare paw to prune them. The garden, like the court, is in very gentle hands.
