The Basket of Pink Roses Was Just the Frame for What Sat in the Middle
Fresh pink roses, little daisies and sprigs of lavender spill over the edges of a woven basket, but the flowers are only the frame. Two sable German Shepherd puppies sit snugly in the middle, one resting his paw on the rim while the other leans close with big blue-gray eyes. Their fur is soft and fluffy, a warm blend of tan and dark brown, and their ears are still mostly folded. Behind them, a cozy bedroom shows a gray throw draped over the bed, potted plants, a rope toy and a mug left on the floor.
Flower baskets make lovely photo props, but it pays to know which blooms are dog safe. Roses are generally considered nontoxic, though their thorns can scratch noses and mouths. Some popular flowers and greenery found in bouquets are a different matter: lilies are dangerous for cats, and plants like daffodils, tulips and certain greenery can upset or harm dogs. When you bring arrangements home, keep them out of reach of curious puppies, and dispose of wilted flowers where pets cannot get to them. If you are unsure about a particular plant, your vet can tell you whether it is a concern.
Puppies also like to chew woven baskets, so supervise closely and remove any loose strands they might swallow.
These two look like they were delivered with a bow on top. Best surprise bouquet ever.
