The Weimaraner Litter Squeezed Into One Flower Pot
A big terracotta flower pot has been planted with something far more lively than petunias. Several silver Weimaraner puppies are packed inside, heads piled over the rim, big eyes aimed straight ahead. One has its chin on the clay, one peeks from behind, and the whole group looks pleased with the arrangement. A sofa and a scattering of blankets fill the room behind.
Puppies are natural squeezers. A tight spot where they can feel walls on all sides is reassuring, which is why boxes, baskets, and pots are so irresistible. It is also a good reminder to keep an eye on real planters, since potting soil, fertilizer, and many houseplants can upset a dog's stomach or be toxic. If a pup chews a plant or eats soil, call your vet for advice.
Weimaraners grow quickly, so this cozy fit will not last long. These dogs are lean, long-legged athletes, and a litter that fits in a pot today may be racing around a yard in a few months. Their energy is a big part of the breed's personality, which is why they usually do best with an active household that has time for daily walks, play, and training.
For now, a flower pot is plenty of room. The pups seem to be growing nicely in it, one soft ear at a time, and the room has never looked so well decorated.
