Three Chihuahua Puppies Yawned at the Same Time on the Couch
Three black and tan Chihuahua puppies sit pressed together on a gray couch, and all three are in the middle of a huge yawn. Their mouths are wide open, their pink tongues curl, and their eyes are squeezed shut or half closed. Their fluffy fur fans out, and their long, feathery ears flop. A window glows behind them, and clothes and a mug fill the cushions in the corner. It is the sleepiest trio imaginable.
Yawning is contagious among dogs, and puppies often copy one another. They yawn when they are tired, but also when they are stretching, relaxing or sometimes a little unsure. When it comes with soft, loose posture like this, it generally means sleepy. Chihuahuas can nap often, and they tend to cuddle when they sleep. Provide a warm, quiet spot, and let them rest without frequent interruptions. A well-rested puppy is easier to train and happier overall.
If you notice yawning during training, it may be time to take a break. Dental care matters a lot for small breeds, so ask your vet about brushing and safe chews while the puppy is young. Meals for tiny puppies are best served in small, frequent portions, and your vet can suggest an amount that suits each puppy's size.
For now, the only task is to nap, and the three of them are ready to take it on together.
