Movie Night Started With a Full Bowl of Popcorn. Copper Had a Plan for It.
Movie night is underway, and the popcorn bowl has become the center of attention. Grandpa Hank sits back on the couch under a soft throw, holding a ceramic bowl heaped with fluffy popcorn and smiling down with obvious amusement. Copper has planted himself right beside the bowl, nose hovering just above the kernels, eyes bright, mouth slightly open as if he is about to make a very reasonable request. A clutter of remotes and magazines covers the coffee table, and a leafy plant sits by the window in the dim, cozy room.
Popcorn is a classic shared snack question for dog owners. Plain, air-popped popcorn with nothing added is generally considered okay for most dogs in very small amounts. The trouble comes with the extras: butter, salt, oil, cheese powders, and seasonings are not good for dogs and can upset their stomachs. Unpopped kernels and hard hulls can also get stuck in teeth or be a choking risk. If you want your dog to have a movie snack of his own, a dog-safe chew or a few pieces of his regular kibble in a puzzle toy is an easy alternative. When in doubt, talk to your vet about safe treats.
Hank's expression suggests he knows exactly where this is going. He has seen that hopeful Husky face many times before.
Whatever movie is on the screen, Copper's favorite feature is clearly the one happening in that bowl.
