Grandpa Otis Leaned In for a Porch Selfie. Bruno Brought His Best Grin.
Cheek to cheek on the front porch, Grandpa Otis and Bruno are grinning for a selfie, and it is hard to say which smile is bigger. Otis, in a chunky green cardigan over a blue shirt, has his glasses on and his silver beard trimmed, and his eyes crinkle with joy. Bruno is pressed against him with his mouth open in a happy pant, tongue out, amber eyes bright, and a brown leather collar around his neck. Behind them, gardening tools hang on the porch wall, a blue watering can sits near the rail, and potted succulents catch the light.
A relaxed, smiling dog is often a sign of a content dog: soft eyes, loose body, and an open mouth. French Bulldogs are known for being affectionate, goofy, and very people-oriented, and many love close contact with their favorite human. Because they have short noses, they can overheat easily on warm days, so shade, water, and rest are a good idea on a porch. Regular vet checkups also help keep a Frenchie's breathing and joints in good shape. Spending a few minutes each day just sitting together, no tricks required, is a lovely way to keep a bond strong between a dog and a person.
Some days are for chores and some are for sitting with your best friend. This one looks like it has plenty of both, and plenty of smiles to spare.
