Grandpa Started to Dance in the Kitchen and Pearl Joined In
Grandpa is mid-laugh, one hand lifted as though he has just caught a dance step from a song only he can hear. The kitchen around him is warm and well used, with lemons and onions in a bowl, a dish towel on the counter, and pans waiting by the stove. Pearl the white Poodle stands at his side with her tail curled high, her blue collar neat and her mouth open in an eager smile. She clearly considers herself a full member of the dance party. Sunlight from the window falls across the counter and the warm wooden cupboards.
Tail wagging is a common way for dogs to show excitement, though the details matter. A loose, sweeping wag with a relaxed body usually means a friendly mood, while a stiff, high, fast wag can signal tension. Poodles are lively and love interaction, so a kitchen dance is a perfect way to burn off a bit of energy and bond. Just be careful of feet, spills, and hot pans while a dog is weaving between your steps.
Whatever tune is playing, the two of them are in perfect rhythm. Grandpa's laughter and Pearl's wagging say everything a kitchen can say on an ordinary afternoon. Dinner can wait a few more minutes. There is no better kitchen music than a happy laugh and the click of nails on the floor.
