A man in a cap and overalls sits on a weathered dock holding a fishing line while a Ragdoll cat sits beside him. 13 / 22

Grandpa Cast His Line at Sunrise. The Ragdoll Supervised.

AI imageragdollfishingdock

Early light drifts over the water as Gus sits on the weathered dock in his cap and denim jacket, line in hand and patience in his shoulders. Juniper sits right beside him, her fluffy cream coat catching the glow and her bright blue eyes aimed at the pond with serious intent. The boards are mottled with age, a few tools and a bucket lie behind them, and little pots of flowers brighten the bank in the distance. A thermos and a coil of spare line sit within reach, and the light on the water makes the whole morning look like a postcard.

Cats and water make an interesting mix. Most cats do not love getting wet, but many are fascinated by fish and ripples, so a dock can be exciting for a curious one. If you take a cat near the water, a secure harness and leash are a smart precaution, and it helps to keep hooks, line, and bait well out of reach, since fishing gear can hurt a pet that gets tangled in it. Ragdolls tend to be calm and easygoing, which suits a slow morning outdoors.

Gus isn't in any rush to catch anything, and Juniper isn't in any rush for him to. The water laps quietly, the dock creaks a little, and the two of them share a patient kind of teamwork. Whether anything bites hardly seems to matter today.
