The Doodle Claimed the Old Tractor Seat. Clover the Lamb Had Other Plans.

Two passengers, one seat, and absolutely no complaints. A shaggy red Goldendoodle with warm amber eyes has claimed the cracked black tractor seat, and a little white lamb named Clover has squeezed right in beside him, cheek pressed to his curly shoulder. Behind them the farmyard is a happy jumble of hay bales, a rusty watering can, old tools, and a weathered tin shed catching the afternoon sun. Neither of them seems to be going anywhere, and that seems to be the whole point.

Goldendoodles are a cross between Golden Retrievers and Poodles, and they usually inherit a friendly, people-loving nature from both sides. Many are calm and patient with smaller animals when they are raised around them, though every dog is an individual. If you ever introduce a dog to livestock, go slowly: keep the dog on a leash at first, reward calm behavior, and never leave them alone together until you are confident the dog sees the newcomer as family rather than something to chase. That curly coat also needs regular brushing, because burrs, hay, and farm dust love to tangle in it.

There is something comforting about a friend who simply scoots over to make room. Clover may not know what a tractor does, and the doodle may not care, but together they have found the best seat on the farm and the best company to share it with.
