The Chocolate Lab and the Piglet Waited on the Porch Step Together
The porch steps are weathered and warm, and a chocolate Labrador Retriever sits at attention, tall and calm, looking off to the side with a thoughtful expression. Right next to him on the same step, a pink piglet sits like a tiny copy, front hooves together, ears forward and snout a little dirty. Behind them the garden is soft and green, and an old post leans at the porch edge.
Labrador Retrievers are among the friendliest dogs around, eager to please and good-natured with people and other animals. They are also big eaters, so keep pig feed and dog food separate, since each animal has different nutritional needs. Never let a dog eat pig feed, or the other way around, and ask your vet about the proper diet for each. Labs love a job to do, and sitting on the porch watching the yard is the sort of calm duty that suits them, especially after a good walk or game of fetch.
We will call the piglet Pearl. She has decided that wherever the Lab sits, she sits too, and so far he seems pleased with the arrangement. The two of them look like they are waiting for something, maybe the afternoon sun to shift or the neighbors to come by. Either way, they wait together, shoulder to shoulder, looking quite pleased with the view.
