Snow Began to Fall, and a Little Pomeranian Wrapped Around Clover
Snowflakes have dusted the ground, and a sable Pomeranian has curled his fluffy body around Clover, the little brown rabbit, with his chin lowered gently over her back. His amber eyes are soft and watchful, his tail curls behind him and the thick ruff around his neck is flecked with snow. Clover is nestled into the curve of his chest, her ears relaxed. Behind them the gray siding of a house and a bare patch of leaves frame the scene.
Pomeranians have a thick double coat that gives them excellent warmth for their size, but they are still tiny dogs and can get chilled quickly in cold weather. Short outings, dry paws and a warm place to return to are all sensible. Rabbits tolerate cold better than heat, but they should never be left outside in snow or freezing rain without proper shelter, since they can become wet and ill. If your pets enjoy a bit of winter play, keep it brief and supervised, and ask your vet about cold-weather care for your area.
The small dog looks like a living fur coat, and Clover is happy to be wrapped in it. His protective pose is a sweet echo of the way dogs care for their own pups. The snow keeps falling softly, and for this moment the cold seems to have nothing to say. It is a quiet winter story that needs no words, just a warm dog and a friend.
