Morning Light Hit the Quilt, and a Bichon Woke Up to Five New Friends
A white Bichon Frise has his fluffy head on the pillow and the quilt pulled up, one sleepy eye half open. Lined up along the edge of the covers are five yellow ducklings tucked into the fabric, their orange bills peeking out. Morning sun glows through the curtain behind them, and the bedside table holds a mug, a plant and a scatter of toys.
Bichon Frises are cheerful, playful little dogs with soft, curly coats that need regular brushing and grooming. They love company and often enjoy cuddling up with their people, especially in a warm bed. Because they are so small, they should be protected from falls off tall beds, and a ramp can help. Ducklings should never be left on a bed unsupervised, as they can slip, get lost in the covers or be hurt by someone rolling over. If you are looking after ducklings, a proper brooder is best. Ask your vet for tips.
The little dog looks as if he has just woken up from a long sleep and is still working out what day it is. The ducklings, calm and cozy, wait in a row as though they are about to tell him. The quilt is wrinkled, the light is soft, and nobody wants to get up. It is the kind of slow morning that should come with no alarm and no agenda, only a few good companions.
