A Dalmatian Settled Into the Barn and Found Company in the Straw
A tall Dalmatian lies in a bed of straw inside an old barn, his spotted head turned toward the light with a calm, noble look. Tucked in against his front leg, a small brown bunny sits upright with her ears alert. Wooden beams and a bright gap of green yard frame the scene, and the air looks warm and dusty.
Dalmatians are athletic, intelligent dogs with a history as carriage escorts, running alongside horses. They have lots of stamina, so a young or healthy Dalmatian needs plenty of exercise. They are also sensitive and want to be close to their family. Dalmatians can be prone to certain health issues, so it is wise to talk to your vet and a breeder.
A barn is a classic place for a dog and a rabbit to share space, but safety comes first. Straw and hay can hide dust, and a dog can accidentally step on a small friend. Make sure the area is free of tools and chemicals, and give the bunny a hiding spot she can reach on her own. Calm, slow introductions help each animal learn to trust the other.
Here, the two have found a quiet corner. The Dalmatian stays still, as though he knows the bunny is watching, and the bunny does not move. It is a calm and gentle friendship, held in the golden light of a barn.
