The Maltese Lay Still While the Lamb Used Him as a Bridge
The Maltese stretches out on the floor with his dark eyes looking straight ahead and his chin down. A white lamb is stepping over his back, one front hoof planted on his side as she balances. The room behind them is sunny, with a kitchen counter, a doorway and a pair of shoes. The little dog shows remarkable patience and doesn't seem to mind being a bridge. His fluffy white coat makes him almost blend in with the lamb. He just waits until she's across. The lamb pauses on his back for a moment, then keeps going.
Maltese dogs are small, gentle companions with long silky white coats. They are playful, affectionate and often very patient, although they are tiny and can be hurt easily, so any roughhousing should be supervised. Their coats need regular brushing, and many owners keep them in a shorter trim. If a dog is being climbed on and seems uncomfortable, it's best to separate the animals and let the dog rest. Lambs are natural climbers and love to hop on things, so they might see a dog as a fun obstacle. Giving each animal its own safe space helps. A soft bed gives a small dog a safe place to retreat to if play gets too busy.
Eventually the lamb will reach the other side, and the Maltese will wiggle back to his feet.
