The Orange Cat Curled Around a Sleeping Bunny Like a Warm Spiral
In a wide wicker basket lined with a chunky knit blanket, a fluffy orange cat has curled up into a tight spiral, her chin resting gently on a small white lop-eared bunny. Both are fast asleep. The bunny's long ears fall soft against the blanket and the cat's long fur glows warm in the light. Slippers, a water dish, and a scattering of hay and toys decorate the room behind them.
Orange longhaired cats, like any longhaired cat, need regular brushing to keep their coats tangle-free. Many cats choose a basket as a favorite spot because the walls make them feel safe and snug. For rabbits, a basket can also be a nest, though check any fabric for loose threads and remove anything the bunny could chew and swallow. A cat that sleeps curled around a rabbit is showing comfort and trust. Always supervise their time together, make sure the cat's claws are trimmed, and give the rabbit a place to retreat. If you are unsure about housing a cat and rabbit together, your vet can advise.
The orange cat looks the picture of devotion, her sleeping face pressed softly against the bunny's head. Nobody asked her to guard, but she seems to have taken the job. The bunny, white as a cloud, sleeps without a care. A basket is a small thing, but sometimes it holds everything two friends need.
