A Tabby and a Bunny Had Front-Row Seats for the Rainstorm
Rain streaks the windowpane as a brown tabby American Shorthair cat and a fluffy grey lop-eared bunny sit side by side on the sill, gazing out. The cat's amber eyes are fixed on the wet street and the bunny sits upright beside her, her ears drooping and her nose twitching. Blankets, a mug, and a few supplies crowd the sill behind them, and the gray light makes the room feel warm by contrast.
Rainy days are perfect for staying indoors, and many cats love a window seat with a view. Watching the weather can be great entertainment for a curious pet. Window sills do come with safety needs, such as secure screens and no cords within reach, and rabbits can be startled by thunder or sudden noises. If a storm is loud, give both pets a quiet, enclosed place to retreat. American Shorthairs are adaptable, easygoing cats that often get along well with other pets. Introduce cats and rabbits slowly and supervise their time together. Ask your vet if you have any concerns.
It is hard to say which one is more interested in the rain. Both are fixed on the glass as if a very important show were on. The weather is gray, but the room is soft and safe. A rainy day is a lovely excuse for a slow morning with a friend.
