A Tuxedo Cat Became the Softest Pillow for a Sleeping Bunny
The tuxedo cat is stretched out on her back with her white paws in the air and her eyes closed, and on her belly lies a gray lop-eared bunny, fast asleep. The bunny's ears are folded down and her small body rises and falls with the cat's breathing. A green blanket spreads beneath them, and a basket and a few soft toys are tucked in the corner of the room.
When a cat lies on her back and shows her belly, it can be a sign that she feels very safe, but it is not always an invitation to pet. Tuxedo cats are known for being sociable and sometimes quite talkative, and many love to be in the middle of things. A rabbit napping on a cat is a sweet idea, but in real life a rabbit has delicate bones, and a sudden stretch or roll could hurt her. A rabbit who feels safe may flop onto her side to sleep, which is normal. Supervise all interactions, and ask your vet about how to help a cat and rabbit become friends.
The two have created a living pillow, and neither of them stirs. It is one of the sweetest naps imaginable, and the room is calm enough to let it last. Some friendships are just built on trust and a very soft belly.
