A Small Bunny Fell Asleep Safe Between a Ragdoll's Paws
A cream point Ragdoll sits tall on the sunny floor with her blue eyes half closed and her chin tilted down toward a small brown lop-eared bunny sleeping between her paws. The bunny's ears are folded flat and her body is relaxed, as though she has never felt safer. A woven rug, a wooden floor and a corner of a basket fill the quiet room around them.
Ragdolls are named for their tendency to go limp and relaxed when held, and they are known for calm, gentle personalities. A rabbit who falls asleep near a cat is showing a lot of trust, since rabbits are prey animals and usually only fully relax when they feel safe. That kind of trust grows over time with calm routines and patient introductions. Even so, no matter how gentle the cat, it is best to supervise at all times, since cat claws and sudden movements can hurt a rabbit. Rabbits also need hay, fresh water and a quiet resting spot of their own. Your vet can help you build a safe plan for both pets.
The Ragdoll holds very still, as though she knows exactly how precious her small friend is. The room is bright and quiet, and the sleeper is not going to wake any time soon. Every so often her whiskers twitch in a dream, and the Ragdoll lowers her head just a little closer, as if to keep the dream a happy one.
