A Black Cat and a Lop Bunny Peeked Over the Garden Bed Together
Two faces peer over the edge of a weathered garden bed, one black and sleek, one soft and tan. The black cat has golden eyes, upright ears, and a face full of intense curiosity. Pudding the lop-eared bunny sits right beside her, with long ears draping down and a round, rosy nose that twitches ever so slightly. Lavender, tiny seedlings, and moss fill the bed below, and a stone patio and sunlit lawn stretch out behind them.
Gardens are exciting places for pets, but they come with a few cautions. Many common plants, such as lilies, are dangerous to cats, and some garden plants and products can harm rabbits too, so it is wise to check before letting pets nibble. Cats love watching for insects and birds from a good vantage point, and rabbits enjoy nibbling on safe greens. Never let either animal near fertilizers, slug bait, or other chemicals. If you want to make your garden pet-friendly, a vet or local garden center can suggest safe plants.
There is something very endearing about two creatures sharing the same curious pose. They are looking at whatever is in the garden, together, with the focus of a pair of detectives. Whatever it is, they have given it their full attention, and the rest of the garden can wait. For a little while, nothing else in the yard exists but the two of them and the mystery below.
