The Abyssinian Cat Patrolled the Backyard With a Bunny on Her Back
The Abyssinian is on patrol in the backyard, and she has acquired a rider. A slender cinnamon-colored cat walks across the grass with her tail low and her ears sharp, her green eyes focused straight ahead. Perched on her back, Pudding the lop-eared bunny sits upright with her ears draped forward, looking just as serious. Dried leaves, a garden hose, flip-flops, and a terra-cotta pot lie scattered around the lawn in the late light.
Abyssinians are lean, athletic cats with a ticked coat and a reputation for curiosity and energy. They are quick climbers and love exploring, so they usually keep busy. Rabbits, by contrast, are delicate, and their spines and legs can be injured easily, so they should never be carried by another animal or placed in situations where they might fall. A picture like this is best enjoyed as a pretend moment and not copied at home. If you have both a cat and a rabbit, supervise them and keep their play gentle, and ask your vet for advice about introductions.
As a piece of charm, though, it is hard to beat. The cat strides on with great dignity, the bunny holds on with great determination, and the backyard becomes a tiny parade ground. It is easy to imagine that both think this is a perfectly sensible way to travel.
