A Tuxedo Cat Rolled Over, and a Flock of Ducklings Fell Asleep on Her
A tuxedo cat lies on her back on a soft rug with her eyes closed and a look of pure bliss, and five fluffy yellow ducklings are nestled on her white belly. Their little bills are tucked in, and a couch and a basket are visible in the background. We'll call the cat Domino. One duckling lifts its head to look around, then tucks right back in. A rumpled sock and a toy are scattered nearby.
Tuxedo cats often have a reputation for being friendly, smart, and a bit goofy, though their personality is just as individual as any other cat. A cat that lies on her back and shows her belly usually feels very safe. But not every cat enjoys a belly rub, and many will swat if you touch them there. Many cats do this simply to stretch out and cool down.
If you ever see a mother cat and her young, you will notice how she curls around them to keep them warm. Cats are good at sharing body heat. But ducklings need a heat source designed for them, and a cat's body is not a safe replacement. Supervise any contact and keep ducklings in a proper brooder.
Domino looks perfectly relaxed, and the ducklings sleep soundly. It is a peaceful, sweet moment. The whole room seems softer for it, and nobody has any plans.
