A Fluffy Silver Dinosaur Is Creeping Down the Sidewalk on the Hunt
Low to the ground and creeping along the concrete path, a fluffy silver kitten has fully embraced the role of a prowling dinosaur. Her green hooded costume has soft spikes running from her head down her back, plus a pair of tiny felt claws dangling from the front. Long wisps of silver fur poke out around her face, and her blue-gray eyes are fixed on something just ahead. A brick house, a jack-o'-lantern on the step, and maple leaves scattered over the sidewalk set the scene for her great neighborhood hunt.
Her long, tufted fur and solid paws suggest a young Maine Coon, a breed famous for its impressive size, shaggy water-resistant coat, and bushy tail. Maine Coons grow slowly and often take a few years to reach their full adult size. They're also known for their charming voices; rather than loud meows, many communicate with soft chirps and trills. Gentle and sociable, they often follow their people from room to room and get along well with children and other pets. Their long coat benefits from regular brushing, particularly around the belly and behind the legs where tangles tend to form.
Right now she's just a small, fuzzy dinosaur stalking down the sidewalk, but one day she'll likely grow into a very large and very gentle giant.
Some dinosaurs ruled the earth. This one is happy to rule the front walk for an afternoon.
