Frost Crept Across the Window, and Moose Sat Watching the Cold
A big-pawed fawn puppy with a deeply wrinkled brow sits on a gray blanket in front of a frosted window. Its large ears droop, its dark muzzle is soft, and it looks directly at the viewer with a serious expression. Frost clouds the corners of the glass, and a small evergreen wreath hangs in the center. Behind the pup, a wicker basket, some wooden blocks, and a pile of folded clothes and coats make the room feel lived in.
Great Danes are among the tallest dog breeds, but puppies are surprisingly clumsy and need to grow at a steady, healthy pace. Vets generally recommend feeding a large-breed puppy food and avoiding too much exercise on hard surfaces while their joints develop. They are known as gentle giants, often calm and affectionate with family. Because they grow so fast, you will need a good bed and plenty of space, and keep an eye on their weight. Hang wreaths out of reach, since some plants and decorations can upset a dog's stomach.
We will call this big baby Moose. He has plenty of growing to do, but right now he is simply a sweet pup next to a frosty window. The cold is outside and the warmth is in, and for a Great Dane puppy in a cozy room, that is the right balance.
