A Window, a Sidewalk Full of Costumes, and One Very Curious Kitten
Costumes are parading down the street, and one gray Devon Rex kitten has the best seat in the house. She sits on the windowsill with her huge ears pointed forward and her eyes locked on the sidewalk, where a little pumpkin and a small witch are walking past. Piles of blankets, a coffee mug, and a few stray scraps of paper crowd the sill around her, and orange fall leaves blow across the road outside.
Cats are natural watchers, and a window is like a television that never stops. Giving a kitten a safe perch by a window, with a bit of cushion, is an easy way to keep her entertained. On a busy Halloween night, a window seat can also keep her calm and away from the door, which is a good idea since the doorbell will ring over and over. If your kitten seems nervous at all the visitors, a quiet room with a bed and a toy can be a kinder spot.
Devon Rex cats have short, wavy coats and oversized ears, and they're famously curious and people-oriented, sometimes called pixie cats for their playful, impish ways. This one seems fascinated by the passing costumes, though she's keeping a safe distance behind the glass. Every few seconds, another tiny ghost or superhero passes by, and she follows each one with the full attention of a very small night watchman.
