A Bulldog on a Sled Surveyed the Snowy Yard Like a King
The sled isn't going anywhere, but the Bulldog doesn't seem to mind. A fawn and white Bulldog sits upright on an old wooden sled, wrinkled face turned slightly to the side and chin lifted, as though he is waiting for the ride to start. Snow covers the yard, a neighboring house with a wreath on the door sits behind him, and bare trees stand against a gray winter sky.
Bulldogs are sturdy, affectionate dogs known for their loose skin, short legs, and calm nature. They don't tolerate extreme weather well, though. Their short noses make cold air and exertion harder, and heat can be a serious risk, so winter outings should be short and gentle. A coat or sweater can help, and paws should be wiped after walks in snow, since salt and ice-melt can irritate them.
A short sled ride is fun, but keep the speed down. Bulldogs aren't built for fast stops or tumbling in the snow, and a heavy dog on a sled can easily slide off. Stay close, keep the hill gentle, and head inside when he starts to shiver. He seems happy enough where he is, sitting like a small king surveying his snowy kingdom, and the thought of a warm blanket at home is just around the corner. A bit of snow lands on his nose, and he blinks slowly without moving an inch. The whole yard feels hushed and peaceful around him.
