A Spotted Dalmatian Sat Guard Over the Pile of Presents
Among a sea of brown paper packages tied with twine and green sprigs, a Dalmatian sits tall and poised, looking off to one side. His spots are crisp and dark against his white coat, his ears are folded neatly, and his nose is raised slightly as if he's catching a scent. Beside him, a lit tree glows, a basket sits nearby, and the golden light of sunset pours in from the window.
Dalmatians are athletic, energetic dogs once known for running alongside carriages, and they have plenty of stamina today. They need plenty of exercise and play, and without it they can get restless and a little mischievous. They also tend to be loyal and attentive, and many love being in the middle of the family action.
Presents under the tree are very tempting to dogs, particularly if they hold food or have a strong smell. Chocolates, treats, and other gifts should be kept well out of sniffing range. It's also wise to keep wrapped items off the floor until the big day. This dog is sitting right in the middle of them, calm and proud, as though he's been given the job of guarding every single one. His tail thumps softly on the carpet, sending a bit of ribbon sliding across the floor. The gifts are lucky to have such a handsome guardian.
