After the Big Unwrapping, the White Cat Claimed the Paper
After the big unwrapping, the floor is a sea of red, green and snowflake paper, and in the middle of it a white cat has gone to sleep. Her long fur blends right into the white tissue, her tail wraps around her body and her face is tucked against a paw. Behind her, a doorway and a green plant are softly lit by the morning light. The paper crinkles around her, and she does not stir.
Norwegian Forest Cats come from a cold climate and have a thick, water-resistant double coat, a bushy tail and sturdy legs. They are strong climbers and often playful, with a gentle, friendly manner. White cats with blue eyes can be prone to hearing loss, so it is worth asking your vet about hearing if your cat does not react to sounds. After a gift opening, it is wise to pick up scraps of ribbon, tape and tinsel, as these can be harmful if swallowed.
Cats often sleep on paper because it is soft, crinkly and warm. This one has made herself a nest with a perfect view of the room. The family may have to clean up around her, but nobody is likely to disturb such a peaceful scene. There is a lot to be said for a nap in the middle of the holiday chaos.
